Job summary

Alexander Steele Ltd is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our Melton Mowbray manufacturing site. You will maintain production equipment, minimise downtime and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

We offer a proactive engineering environment, 4 on 4 off days/nights shift 6:00 to 18:00, and a salary up to £49,000 plus great benefits. This role requires apprentice-trained background and strong fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrician, or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.
• Multi-skilled engineering background within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience of PPM and breakdown maintenance.
• Good understanding of health & safety requirements.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
• Complete maintenance records and CMMS updates accurately.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimise performance.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards.
