Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a state-of-the-art Leeds site. You will operate within a highly automated production environment, carrying out PPM tasks and rapid fault-finding to keep lines running.

The role offers progression in a stable, growing manufacturing business with ongoing training and development opportunities and a 4 on/4 off shift pattern (days and nights).

Qualifications

• Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with automated equipment and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and effectively.
• Support continuous improvement across site operations.
• PerformRoot Cause Analysis to reduce recurring failures.
• Maintain maintenance records using a CMMS system.
• Collaborate with production to minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Leeds
Salary: £53,000 - £58,000 + Benefits
Shift Pattern: 4 On 4 Off (Days & Nights)

A leading UK manufacturer is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its high-performing engineering team at a state-of-the-art production facility in Leeds.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to reduce recurring equipment failures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures

Skills & Experience

• Completed Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent
• Previous experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical, or other fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience with automated production equipment and PLC-controlled machinery
• Knowledge of conveyors, motors, drives, sensors, pumps, and pneumatics
• Experience using SAP PM, Maximo, Pirana, Shire, CMMS, or similar maintenance systems
• Able to work effectively within a 24/7 manufacturing operation
