Job summary

First Military Recruitment are seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer for an Equipment Maintenance Technician role near Towcester. The position offers £45,000 to £50,000 OTE per annum and welcomes ex-military applicants.

You will perform preventive maintenance on reactors, assist with exhaust filters and gas cylinders, and support project work with minimal supervision while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance engineering.
• Basic electrical knowledge and safety awareness.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on reactors and related equipment.
• Assist with exhaust filter and system maintenance, as well as gas cylinder changes.
• Conduct electrical Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) - training provided.
• Manage the control, handling, and disposal of chemicals, gases, and spare parts, including chemical fills and deliveries.
• Prepare for preventive maintenance tasks and system cleaning.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing processing and ancillary equipment.
• Support engineers with project work and take ownership of assigned projects where qualified.
• Work independently on tasks following documented procedures, with minimal supervision.
• Assist with logistical operations, including equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganization, and parts shipping.
• Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork across departments.

Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel, however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on reactors and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal disruption.
• Assist with exhaust filter and system maintenance, as well as gas cylinder changes.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness to carry breathing apparatus and pass a lung function test.
• Conduct electrical Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) - training provided.
• Manage the control, handling, and disposal of chemicals, gases, and spare parts, including chemical fills and deliveries.
• Prepare for preventive maintenance tasks and system cleaning.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing processing and ancillary equipment.

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
