Job summary

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician (Multi-Skilled Engineer) on behalf of one of our clients near Towcester. The role covers preventive maintenance, electrical checks and safe handling of chemicals and gases.

You will work with a small team, perform PAT testing after training, and support project tasks with minimal supervision. A full UK driving licence and good English communication are required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance experience.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Willingness to work overtime during shutdowns or major maintenance periods.
• Physically fit for demanding tasks.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong communication in English.
• Computer literate; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on reactors and related equipment.
• Assist with exhaust filter and system maintenance; gas cylinder changes.
• Pass a lung function test and maintain breathing apparatus fitness.
• Carry out electrical PAT testing after training.
• Handle chemicals, gases and spare parts; oversee deliveries.
• Prepare for maintenance tasks and system cleaning.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing equipment; support project work.
• Work with engineers and take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Work independently following documented procedures with minimal supervision.
• Assist with logistics, relocations and parts shipping.
• Foster teamwork across departments.

Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on reactors and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal disruption.
• Assist with exhaust filter and system maintenance, as well as gas cylinder changes.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness to carry breathing apparatus and pass a lung function test.
• Conduct electrical Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) - training provided.
• Manage the control, handling, and disposal of chemicals, gases, and spare parts, including chemical fills and deliveries.
• Prepare for preventive maintenance tasks and system cleaning.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing processing and ancillary equipment.
• Support engineers with project work and take ownership of assigned projects where qualified.
• Work independently on a variety of tasks following documented procedures, with minimal supervision.
• Assist with logistical operations, including equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganization, and parts shipping.
• Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork across departments.

Skills and Qualifications
