Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct planned maintenance and fault finding on equipment.
• Install, commission, and enhance plant setups.
• Ensure safety and compliance during operations.
• Minimising downtime and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
• Ensuring work is safe and compliant with standards.
• Supporting line changeovers and set-ups.

Multi-skilled Engineer - Cambridgeshire

Hours: Monday to Friday, double days 06:00-14:00 & 14:00-22:00, no nights or weekends

I’m currently recruiting for a hands‑on, multi‑skilled engineer to join a well‑established food manufacturing site in Cambridgeshire. This role is ideal for someone with both mechanical and electrical experience who enjoys working across a variety of plant and packaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Planned maintenance and fault finding (mechanical & electrical)
• Installing, commissioning, and improving plant and equipment
• Maintaining plant rooms and water treatment systems (where trained)
• Minimising downtime and contributing to continuous improvement projects
• Ensuring work is safe and compliant with legal, environmental, and company standards
• Supporting line changeovers and set‑ups

Essential Skills

• PPM, mechanical & electrical fault finding
• Line changeovers & belt repairs
• Food/packaging/FMCG experience
• Relevant engineering qualification

Desirable Skills

• Welding (TIG) and basic fabrication
• Hydraulic, boiler, refrigeration, and packaging equipment knowledge
• Scissor lift licence, SAP experience
