Job summary

Platform Housing Group is seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator to join its busy repairs and maintenance team in the Birmingham area. You will apply finishes, stain block and help prepare properties to Lettable Standards, delivering high-quality results in customers' homes.

The role requires an apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating (or City & Guilds) and extensive trade experience. A driving licence and DBS check are essential for this mobile position.

• Extensive time served in Painting, Decorating and related trades.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to keep jobs on track.
• Experience delivering work right first time in customer homes.

Calling all experienced Multi Skill Trades Painter and Decorators -can you give our homes the perfect finish?

We are looking for an experienced Painter and Decorator to join our talented and busy repairs and maintenance team and help maintain our homes in Birmingham area.

What could you be doing?

Putting the finishing touches to our properties, you will be an important part of a busy team delivering repairs and maintenance. You will support our team with a range of responsive painting and decorating tasks, including stain blocking, as well as helping to prepare and return Empty Properties to the required Lettable Standards.

With a passion for detail, you will have the ability to work on your own initiative. If you also have additional trade skills, particularly experience in tiling, we'd really like to hear from you!

We want somebody who can:

A team player, you'll be hard working and keen to learn with a can-do attitude. You'll be working in people's homes, so you'll need to be friendly and approachable with good communication and customer service skills.You'll also need to be organised and recognise the importance of delivering work right first time.

Some things we need from you:

• You will have served an apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating or obtained an equivalent City & Guilds qualification
• Extensive time served in Painting, Decorating and associated trade skills
• Good organisational skills
• Experience of keeping jobs on track
• Takes ownership, responsibility for their tasks and has a right first-time approach
• Works well alone but also as part of a team
• The drive to ensure works are completed quickly and efficientlywhilst meeting strict deadlines
• Full current validdriving Licenceessential as this is a mobile role
• As you will be working in customers' homes you will need a DBS check.

This role is for a team based in Birminghham so you will need to live within this area.
