Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Service Manager (Engineering) to oversee the service operation across multiple sites for a machinery solutions business in the UK. You will coordinate engineers, manage customer relationships and drive efficient aftersales delivery while monitoring costs and service performance.

The role is based in Corby with regular travel to company sites in Suffolk and Newark-on-Trent.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a Service Manager, Aftersales Manager, Service Supervisor or Senior Service Controller position
• Experience within construction plant, heavy machinery, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles or another engineering environment

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the service department across multiple sites
• Lead, support and coordinate a team of Service Engineers and field-based technicians
• Plan and prioritise engineer workloads, breakdowns, servicing and scheduled maintenance
• Allocate jobs and resources to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently
• Act as a senior point of contact for key customers, handling service issues and escalations
• Monitor service performance, productivity, labour utilisation and job profitability
• Oversee service jobs from initial booking through to completion and invoicing
• Regularly visit and support company sites across Suffolk and Newark-on-Trent
