Job summary

Strachan & Kemp Facilities Services is seeking an experienced Operation Manager to oversee day-to-day delivery of commercial cleaning contracts across multiple client sites in Scotland. This hands-on role requires leadership of cleaners, supervisors and support staff, with a focus on service standards, staffing, audits and budget adherence.

The role involves regular travel between client sites, working independently and taking ownership of the cleaning operation to ensure high-quality service

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial cleaning contracts across multiple locations.
• Strong people-management and leadership skills.
• Experience managing absence, holidays, recruitment and performance.
• A strong understanding of cleaning standards, equipment and COSHH.
• Experience carrying out cleaning audits and quality inspections.
• Good commercial awareness around labour utilisation and contract profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of commercial cleaning contracts across client sites.
• Lead and support cleaning supervisors and operatives.
• Ensure sites are staffed and arrange cover for holidays, sickness and absence.
• Recruit, induct and train new cleaning personnel as required.
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and quality checks.
• Maintain contracts in accordance with specifications and budgets.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and growth of cleaning division.
