Job summary

WR Logistics are recruiting for an experienced Multimodal Import Operator to join their Denton, Manchester team. The role covers end-to-end import shipments across multiple modes and handling ocean imports, with a real opportunity to develop knowledge across modes.

Based in the office, you will liaise with overseas offices, agents and customers, manage customs clearance and documentation, and keep customers updated while resolving delays within timescales.

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in freight forwarding and import operations.
• Experience with FCL/LCL ocean imports and multimodal freight.
• Good knowledge of customs and import procedures.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Position: Multimodal Import Operator

Location: Denton, Manchester

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 | Permanent | Office Based

Hours: Mon-Fri 9:00 - 17:00

WR Logistics are recruiting on behalf of a leading multi-site freight forwarding group for an experienced Multimodal Import Operator to join their established team in Denton, Manchester.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a solid grounding in freight forwarding and wants to join a business where there is genuine scope to develop their knowledge across different modes and take on more responsibility over time.

The role is fully office based in Denton, working closely with an experienced team across the wider business.

The Role

• Managing end-to-end import shipments across multiple modes
• Handling FCL/LCL ocean imports and multimodal freight
• Liaising with overseas offices, agents, customers and suppliers

About You

We're looking for someone with a genuine freight forwarding background who understands the import process and is comfortable managing shipments independently.

• Experience working within freight forwarding or logistics
• Strong import operations experience
• Experience handling multimodal freight, particularly ocean imports
• Good knowledge of customs and import procedures
• Experience dealing with customers, overseas agents and transport providers
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to manage your own workload in a busy operational environment
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn

You don't need to have experience across every mode, but you should have a solid understanding of freight forwarding and be keen to broaden your multimodal knowledge.
