Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Swindon is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join a busy, independent team. Role covers safety inspections, servicing, and repairs across a large, varied fleet, using multi-brand diagnostic tools.

The position offers weekday hours, no weekend shifts, progression support, and a Pension scheme. Own tools and a full UK driving licence are required; MOT tester licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or City & Guilds/equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence; MOT Tester licence preferred but not required.
• Own hand tools for daily repair, diagnostic, and servicing tasks.
• Experience in a professional workshop with diverse vehicle brands.
• Willingness to work with multi-brand diagnostic software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safety inspections, retail prep, servicing, and mechanical repairs across a diverse fleet.
• Use advanced diagnostic equipment and multi-brand software to troubleshoot faults.
• Perform thorough maintenance and prep to meet top retail and safety standards.
• Collaborate with vehicle coordinators, sales teams, and other mechanics to maintain workshop flow.
