Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Physiotherapy Associate Practitioner (Band 4) for the MSK Outpatient service at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough. The role includes hydrotherapy duties and a weekend rotation on the orthopaedic ward.

You will deliver group sessions, manage a small caseload, and work under supervision of qualified physiotherapists. Applicants must have right to work in the UK for the full duration.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Exercise qualification such as certificate in personal training, listed on REPS register or equivalent.
• Experience delivering group sessions.
• Experience as a B3 Physiotherapy assistant or equivalent.
• Evidence of exercise assessment and prescription.
• Experience of undertaking exercise prescription for people with long term conditions.
• Experience of evaluating outcomes of exercise.
• Experience of working within a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the provision of care to patients, supported and indirectly supervised by qualified physiotherapists.
• Carry out clinical tasks (such as instruction/supervision and prescription of exercise programmes), delegated by qualified staff requiring a wide range of technical ability as well as an excellent level of interpersonal skills.
• Provide one to one treatment sessions with patients in the Outpatient setting, progress exercises in a timely manner and apply clinical reasoning skills in exercise prescription.
• To manage a small patient caseload of basic protocol based patients, to include initial assessment (measuring range of movement, risk assessments).
• To provide poolside hydrotherapy cover, pool testing, management of aquagym waiting list.
