Job summary

M‑Sport UK is seeking an experienced Engine Design Engineer to join the Engine Design team at Dovenby Hall. You will design, develop, and improve high-performance engine components for international motorsport programmes, collaborating with engineering, production and purchasing to ensure on-time delivery of reliable powertrain solutions.

You will produce detailed CAD models and drawings, perform engineering analyses and tolerance studies, and drive continuous improvement across multiple

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Motorsport/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with mechanical design in high-performance environments is preferred.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to produce detailed models and drawings.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing methods and tolerances.
• Ability to evaluate problems and develop practical design solutions.
• Attention to detail in producing engineering models and documentation.
• Clear communication within multidisciplinary teams and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proactive, collaborative and adaptable to a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance engine components and assemblies from concept to manufacture.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings and production-ready documentation.
• Carry out engineering calculations and tolerance studies to validate performance.
• Develop innovative design solutions to improve engine performance and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Engine Engineering, Production and Purchasing to deliver programs.
• Investigate design issues with structured root-cause analysis and robust solutions.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure parts meet specifications and delivery targets.
• Manage design activities across multiple projects and milestones.
