Job summary

M-Sport UK is seeking an experienced Engine Supervisor to lead the Engine Shop at Dovenby Hall. You will oversee day-to-day engine build and servicing activities, providing direction to Engine Builders and coordinating with Engineering, Design and Workshop teams to deliver high-performance competition engines.

The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proven team leadership, and a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, engine assembly and Fitment.
• Proven ability to supervise and support a technical or production team.
• Excellent attention to detail with emphasis on quality, accuracy and repeatability.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple workloads and deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technicians, engineers and management.
• Proactive problem solving with good decision making in operations.
• Competent using Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to understand and complete build specifications and technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Engine Shop team with clear direction and support.
• Plan and coordinate daily workloads and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
• Monitor engine build schedules and flag delays or resource needs.
• Ensure all engine work meets required quality standards and procedures.
• Provide technical support to Engine Builders to resolve build issues.
• Ensure inspection and verification of components and assemblies.
• Maintain accurate build records and technical paperwork.
• Monitor productivity and quality, giving coaching and feedback.
• Promote health and safety culture in workshop activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Stores and Purchasing to meet project timelines.
• Support training and development of Builders and Apprentices.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes and practices.
• Maintain high housekeeping and manage tools and facilities.
