Job summary

M-Sport UK is seeking an Engine Builder to join our Engine Department at Dovenby Hall. The role focuses on assembly, inspection, preparation and maintenance of high-performance competition engines, working to tight tolerances in a dedicated motorsport environment.

This is ideal for an experienced technician seeking to specialise in precision engine assembly. You will work with Engine Engineers and the Dyno Team to deliver performance and reliability for championship-level competition,

Qualifications

• Educated to Level 3 Light Vehicle or Race Technician standard.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and build specs.
• Organised with the ability to prioritise workloads against deadlines.
• Problem-solving is proactive and practical.
• Excellent communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary group.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate results.

Responsibilities

• Assemble high-performance engines to precise specifications.
• Carry out inspections and measurements using specialist tools.
• Strip, rebuild and prepare engines for dyno testing and events.
• Provide feedback to Engine Engineers and Dyno Team on improvements.
• Maintain build records, inspection reports and traceability.
• Ensure work meets high quality and reliability standards.
• Support ongoing development to improve engine build processes.
