Aspion is seeking a capable Claims Handler to join their Smethwick office. You will manage a caseload of non-fault motor claims from setup through to settlement, coordinating vehicle recovery, hire, repairs and cost recovery while keeping customers and third parties informed.

You will own complete claims files, chase information, negotiate settlements and work with insurers, repairers and hire providers as part of a small, hands-on team reporting to the directors.

Qualifications

• Experience in motor claims handling, accident management or a closely related role.
• Understanding of non-fault road traffic claims, vehicle hire, repairs and cost recovery.
• Confidence dealing with insurers, repairers, hire providers and customers.
• Experience progressing claims through several stages; negotiation or settlement experience would be valuable.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with strong organisation and follow-up skills.
• Sound judgement, a practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to support colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Set up and manage claims files following initial assessment.
• Obtain insurance details and issue letters of claim.
• Instruct engineers, obtain damage reports and coordinate with repair centres.
• Liaise with replacement vehicle hire providers and monitor off-hire dates.
• Communicate with customers, third-party insurers and other parties throughout the claim.
• Chase outstanding information and keep files progressing.
• Negotiate cost recovery and work towards settlement.
• Maintain accurate file notes and provide clear written updates.
• Work with colleagues to resolve issues and improve the claims process.
