Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a motivated Motor Claims Handler to join our Ipswich team. You will manage a portfolio of motor claims, handle investigations, and negotiate settlements with a focus on fair outcomes for clients and third parties.

The role requires commuting to the Ipswich office three days a week and delivering high-quality service in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Opportunities for professional development and progression are available.

Qualifications

• Base understanding of insurance principles.
• Experience handling motor claims, including damage and third-party claims.
• Excellent customer service and ability to build rapport.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of motor claims from first notification through to settlement.
• Investigate claims and determine liability and reserve within your authority.
• Negotiate settlements to achieve fair, timely outcomes for all parties.
• Liaise with clients, brokers, suppliers, claimants and representatives.
• Provide excellent customer service across phone and email channels.
• Proactively manage claims to reduce lifecycle and improve outcomes.
• Ensure claims adhere to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
