Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to lead our Defence team within Strata Solicitors. The role focuses on motor claims for corporate clients, delivering exceptional service while developing high-performing teams and driving operational excellence.

You will oversee a team handling motor claims, manage relationships with clients, and ensure adherence to service standards and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Vast experience handling motor claims within a legal, insurance or claims management environment.
• Previous leadership or team management experience.
• Experience working directly with clients and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Strong technical claims knowledge across pre- and post-litigated claims.
• Excellent communication, coaching and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and developing a team of Claims Handlers to achieve individual and team objectives.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key corporate clients.
• Ensuring service level agreements and KPIs are consistently achieved.
• Supporting strategic business objectives through effective management of people, processes and resources.
• Acting as a technical referral point for complex, high-value or sensitive claims.
• Managing performance, coaching, recruitment, appraisals and development plans.
• Preparing client reports, attending service review meetings, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Driving operational excellence, compliance standards and best practice across the team.
• Supporting complaint resolution and the successful management of escalated cases.
