Description

Our Opportunity: Davies is looking to recruit an experienced Claims Handler to join our growing Casualty team.

Department: Claims Management

Location: Stoke

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Location: Glasgow/Hybrid with attendance in the Glasgow office at least once per week.

As a Claims Handler, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for providing a quality, proactive, 360 claims service for our clients, aligned with the insurer's claims handling philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Establish if cover is in place for a claim
  2. Use of the digital claims handling system
  3. Investigate liability claims, either from the desk or referring to loss adjusters
  4. Make decisions on liability
  5. Negotiate settlements
  6. Ensure compliance with legal timescales and client SLAs
  7. Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders
  8. Provide referral support to less experienced colleagues
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Experience with policy wording and terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market
  • Knowledge of valuing injury claims
  • Knowledge of reserving philosophies (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
  • Good communication skills at all levels
