Job description

Join to apply for the Motor Claims Handler role at Acorn Group.

This position is based in Liverpool with hybrid working arrangements. The role involves managing a portfolio of Fleet and Specialist motor claims, including all Heads of Damage such as Accidental Damage, Property Damage, Credit Hire, and Third-party Personal Injury claims (Portal and Non-Portal). The successful candidate will provide exceptional service and relationship management to Fleet customers.

Responsibilities include:
  • Validating claims for indemnity and fraud.
  • Assessing liability and communicating decisions.
  • Contacting claimants to establish exposure and updating claim files.
  • Accurately assessing claim quantum using relevant tools.
  • Reducing exposure through vehicle loss interventions with in-house motor engineers.
  • Minimizing indemnity spend via commercial decisions.
  • Proactive case management and file organization.
  • Ensuring reserves are accurate and in line with guidelines.
  • Performance management and adherence to best practices.
  • Mentoring less experienced handlers.
Candidate requirements:
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Initiative and motivation as a self-starter.
  • Teamwork and a culture of openness, trust, and respect.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Analytical skills for fact-finding and decision-making.
  • Extensive PI and credit hire claims experience, with knowledge of relevant protocols and rules.
  • Experience handling Injury claims outside of Low Value Personal Injury Portal.
