Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician for a Cheltenham workshop. The role focuses on MOT testing of Class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles, and on servicing and repairing cars and light commercial vehicles.

With a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00am–5:30pm) and a salary of £35,000–£40,000, the position includes ongoing training, a pension, and benefits such as free MOT and gym membership. A full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Carry out MOT testing on Class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles where authorised.
• Service, maintain and repair cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV).
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Attend vehicle breakdowns when required.
• Complete accurate job cards, MOT records and workshop documentation.
• Carry out cambelt, clutch and general mechanical repairs.

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
• Carry out cambelt, clutch and general mechanical repairs

• Minimum 3 years' qualified experience as a Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician or Motor Vehicle Technician
• Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
• Class 4, 5 and 7 MOT testing authorisation desirable
• Experience servicing and repairing cars and light commercial vehicles
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Right to work in the UK

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 Basic (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm
