Job summary

Braefel Garage, a family-run independent MOT and service workshop in the United Kingdom, is seeking an MOT Tester to support the Service Manager in ensuring vehicles meet safety and compliance standards.

The role is full-time, with occasional Saturdays and potential for part-time arrangements depending on discussion. You will follow DVSA guidelines, update skills, and service a range of private and fleet vehicles with a strong emphasis on customer communication.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent work experience.
• Must have a valid MOT Tester Licence (yearly exam).
• Should be an experienced motor vehicle technician with experience on a variety of makes/models.
• Excellent customer service skills when speaking to customers directly.
• Full driving licence, preferably with no points.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Service Manager and perform MOT testing and workshop duties to high standards.
• Work on services, tyres, diagnostics and electric vehicles as required.

As a family run business we have a vacancy for a MOT Tester. We're a busy independent garage and we require someone to help the Service Manager in completing this important role, with keeping vehicles safe for our customers. Our customers are a variety of private and fleet companies.

This position is full-time but we would look at someone part-time for this role as well (days to be discussed). The vacancy is from Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday as needed. You must be use to following the standards set by the DVSA and update your skills as necessary.

As part of the requirements you;

• should have a level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent work experience
• must have a valid MOT Tester Licence (yearly exam)
• should be an experienced motor vehicle technician and have worked on a variety of different makes and models of vehicles
• must have excellent customer service skills when speaking to customers directly
• should have a full driving licence, preferably with no points

You will also be required to work in the workshop as necessary working on tasks such as services, tyres, diagnostics or electric vehicles to the highest standards.
