Job summary

Octane Recruitment in Dover is seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join a busy main dealership. The role involves carrying out Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards, inspecting vehicles, and performing light servicing when required.

The successful candidate will have a current MOT Tester Licence, at least 2 years' experience, and a Full UK Driving Licence, with a strong understanding of DVSA procedures and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Current and valid MOT Tester Licence – essential.
• Minimum 2 years' experience working as an MOT Tester.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Good understanding of current DVSA regulations and testing procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with current DVSA regulations.
• Complete thorough vehicle inspections and identify any repair requirements.
• Carry out light servicing and maintenance work when required.
• Ensure all MOT testing documentation is completed accurately.
• Maintain full compliance with DVSA standards and procedures.
• Liaise with Vehicle Technicians and Service Advisors regarding identified repairs.

Location - Dover, Kent
Salary - £35,000 Basic
Working Hours - Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced MOT Tester to join a busy and established main dealership in the Dover area. The successful MOT Tester will be responsible for carrying out Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards, alongside vehicle inspections and light servicing and maintenance when required.

MOT Tester Role

• Carry out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with current DVSA regulations.
• Complete thorough vehicle inspections and identify any repair requirements.
• Carry out light servicing and maintenance work when required.
• Ensure all MOT testing documentation is completed accurately.
• Maintain full compliance with DVSA standards and procedures.
• Liaise with Vehicle Technicians and Service Advisors regarding identified repairs.
• Carry out road tests when necessary.
• Maintain high levels of productivity while ensuring excellent quality standards.
• Keep the workshop and MOT testing areas clean, organised and compliant with Health & Safety requirements.

MOT Tester Requirements

• Current and valid MOT Tester Licence - essential.
• Minimum 2 years' experience working as an MOT Tester.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Good understanding of current DVSA regulations and testing procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience within a dealership or busy workshop environment would be advantageous.
• Professional attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
