Job summary

Auto Skills UK is hiring an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician in Southend-on-Sea, for a full-time permanent position. You will perform MOT tests to DVSA standards and assist with servicing and repairs.

Join a busy dealership with training, development, and a comprehensive benefits package, including generous annual leave and healthcare support. A valid MOT Licence (Class 4 & 7) and NVQ Level 2/3 are required, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have MOT Tester experience and hold a Class 4 & 7 licence.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving Licence and flexible, proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repair work where required
• Identifying and reporting any additional work necessary
• Communicating test results and repair requirements with the Service Reception and Workshop Control teams
• Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring work meets required standards
• Maintaining up-to-date product and technical knowledge
• Delivering excellent standards of customer service
• Maintaining accurate administration and documentation
• Keeping your working area clean, organised and safe

THE ROLE

As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for carrying out MOT testing, servicing and repair work to a high standard while ensuring excellent quality and customer service.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician with:

• Previous experience working as an MOT Tester
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• A valid MOT Testing Licence - Class 4 & 7
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• A thorough and methodical approach to work
• The ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A flexible and proactive attitude
• A full UK Driving Licence
