Job summary

Webrecruit is seeking an MOT Tester in St Helens to conduct MOT tests on light vehicles in line with DVSA standards and record results on the DVSA system. The role emphasises safety, accuracy, and customer service in a busy retail automotive environment.

You will work within a small team or independently as needed, maintaining high workmanship standards while promoting additional vehicle services and addressing customer needs. Flexibility and strong communication are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT tests for light vehicles to DVSA standards and input results into the DVSA computer system.
• Fit products as specified by the Company to customer vehicles and perform related services.
• Work as part of a small team, or independently as required, maintaining high standards of quality.

Hours

The Company's normal opening times are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm, Saturday 8.30am hours to 5.00pm hours and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Working hours to be discussed at interview

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to tasks and be able to manage their own workload, be an excellent communicator with proven experience of working in a busy retail environment in an automotive setting. The main objective of the role will be to MOT test light vehicles as set out by DVSA in a safe and efficient manner. The successful candidate will be part of a small team, but should be equally happy working on their own and should take a great degree of pride in carrying out tasks to an extremely high standard.

Job Responsibilities

• All MOT Testers must hold a valid MOT Tester licence which is issued by the DVSA
• To carry out MOT test to DVSA standard and input the details on the DVSA computer system
• To fit any product specified by the Company to customer vehicles and carry out a range of ancillary services to customer vehicles
