Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Dover, Kent is seeking a Class 4 MOT Tester to join a friendly, family-run garage. You will conduct Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards, complete documentation, and explain faults clearly to customers in a supportive workshop.

Salary ranges from £36,000 to £40,000 basic, with a performance bonus scheme. Monday to Friday with weekends off, free onsite parking, and ongoing training in a long-term permanent role.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 4 MOT Testing Licence (NT Number) required.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Previous MOT testing experience required.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards.
• Complete MOT documentation and DVSA system entries accurately.
• Identify vehicle faults and explain findings clearly to customers.
• Support the workshop with minor servicing and repairs when required.
• Keep the workshop clean, safe, and well organised.

The Role

As our MOT Tester, you'll be responsible for:

• Carrying out Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards.
• Completing MOT documentation and DVSA system entries accurately.
• Identifying vehicle faults and explaining them clearly and honestly to customers.
• Supporting the workshop with minor servicing and repairs when required.
• Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and well organised.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Valid Class 4 MOT Testing Licence (NT Number).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous MOT testing experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

Desirable:

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Experience working in an independent garage.
