Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking a skilled MOT Tester for a reputable automotive workshop in Southend, Essex. This role offers a clear path for progression within a customer-focused environment, with a supportive team and opportunities to earn through the bonus scheme and daily targets.

The position features a Monday–Friday schedule (8:30 AM–5:30 PM), no weekends, and a competitive base salary with earnings potential up to £45,000 OTE.

Qualifications

• Recognised MOT Tester qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out MOT testing in accordance with VOSA standards and regulations.
• Conducting vehicle inspections and diagnostic assessments.
• Ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspections and repairs.
• Providing outstanding customer service and clear communication regarding vehicle condition.
• Managing a busy workload effectively to meet MOT targets and maximise bonus earnings.
• Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated MOT Tester to join a reputable automotive workshop located in Southend, Essex. Benefits of the MOT Tester:

• Basic salary of £32,000 per annum, with the potential to earn up to £45,000 OTE
• Monday to Friday working hours from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with no weekends
• Bonus scheme based on efficiency and performance
• Additional pay of £12.50 per hour for every hour over 8 hours sold per day

Duties of the MOT Tester:

Requirements of the MOT Tester:

• Recognised MOT Tester qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Valid MOT testing licence issued by VOSA
• Proven experience as an MOT Tester within a dealership or independent garage
• Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures
• Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
