Octane Recruitment has an exciting MOT Tester role in Dover, Kent, with a busy main dealership. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and long-term career progression.

You will carry out Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards, perform inspections, and conduct light servicing when required, ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant with DVSA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current and valid MOT Tester Licence is essential.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an MOT Tester.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of DVSA testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards.
• Complete thorough vehicle inspections and identify repairs.
• Carry out light servicing and maintenance when required.
• Ensure MOT testing documentation is completed accurately.
• Maintain DVSA compliance and liaise with technicians and advisors.
• Road test vehicles when necessary and maintain high productivity with quality.

Location – Dover, Kent
Salary – £35,000 Basic
Working Hours – Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced MOT Tester to join a busy and established main dealership in the Dover area. This is a great opportunity for a qualified MOT Tester looking to join a supportive workshop with excellent benefits, ongoing training and genuine long-term career progression. The successful MOT Tester will be responsible for carrying out Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards, alongside vehicle inspections and light servicing and maintenance when required.

MOT Tester Role

• Carry out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with current DVSA regulations.
• Complete thorough vehicle inspections and identify any repair requirements.
• Carry out light servicing and maintenance work when required.
• Ensure all MOT testing documentation is completed accurately.
• Maintain full compliance with DVSA standards and procedures.
• Liaise with Vehicle Technicians and Service Advisors regarding identified repairs.
• Carry out road tests when necessary.
• Maintain high levels of productivity while ensuring excellent quality standards.
• Keep the workshop and MOT testing areas clean, organised and compliant with Health & Safety requirements.

MOT Tester Requirements

• Current and valid MOT Tester Licence – essential.
• Minimum 2 years' experience working as an MOT Tester.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Good understanding of current DVSA regulations and testing procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience within a dealership or busy workshop environment would be advantageous.
• Professional attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
