Arnold Clark is hiring an MOT Tester at our Motorstore/MG branch in Birtley. Join a skilled team to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy, gaining hands-on experience with many makes and models using the latest automotive tech.

The role requires MOT testing expertise, DVSA certification, and a Full UK Driving Licence. We offer a competitive salary, overtime pay, generous leave, and training to become EV-accredited, with opportunities for salary progression.

About the role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you\'ll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day-to-day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
• Identifying vehicle defects and failures
• Keeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of inspections
• Providing exceptional customer service and technical advice

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)
• Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role
• DVSA Tester Certification
• Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Detail-Oriented – Committed to delivering high-quality work
