Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking an MOT Tester at our Glasgow branch to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and roadworthiness. You will join a skilled team handling a range of makes and models, gaining hands-on experience with modern automotive technology. Training provided to support EV accreditation.

Role includes performing MOT tests, identifying defects, maintaining records, and delivering high-quality customer service. Overtime and performance bonuses available with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification or equivalent.
• DVSA Tester Certification is required/advantageous.
• Level 3 certification is preferred, not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
• Identify vehicle defects and failures during tests.
• Keep up to date with MOT testing guidelines and best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of inspections.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical advice.

About The Role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our customers' vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You’ll work with a skilled, motivated team in a dynamic environment, gaining hands‑on experience with a wide variety of makes and models. Plus, you'll stay ahead of the curve with the latest automotive technology!

Day-to-day duties

• Performing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards


• Identifying vehicle defects and failures


• Keeping up to date with current MOT testing guidelines and best practices


• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of inspections


• Providing exceptional customer service and technical advice

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Technician – Minimum level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (level 3 preferred)


• Experienced & Skilled – Solid background in an MOT testing role


• DVSA Tester Certification


• Team Player – Able to work efficiently alone or with colleagues


• Full UK Driving Licence


• Detail-Oriented – Committed to delivering high-quality work
