Job summary

Octane Recruitment seeks an MOT Technician for a busy fast-fit centre in Southampton. You will mainly complete MOTs on customer cars and perform light servicing and quick-fit tasks, with full training provided by the company.

Salary ranges from £36,000 to £40,000 with an uncapped OTE of £3,600. Standard hours are 08:30–17:30, Mon–Fri, with Saturday on rota and a day off in the week.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence required.
• Experience as Vehicle Technician/MOT tester preferred.
• No formal qualifications required; client will fund training.

Responsibilities

• Complete MOTs on customer vehicles.
• Perform light and full-service work as needed.
• Carry out fast fit duties when required.
• Collaborate with workshop staff to meet targets.
• Coordinate with Service, Parts and other departments for updates.
• Follow DVSA processes correctly.

Our client who is one of the UKs fastest growing fast-fit automotive business, are currently looking for a MOT Technician based at their retail centre in Southampton.

As a MOTTechnician would be responsible for completing MOTs on customers cars, as well as other light repair work. To be applicable for this role you must have a valid MOT licence, as well as experience working as a Vehicle Technician.

You do not need to be a qualified technician for this role. Our client is happy to put you through your qualifications!

Location: Southampton

Pay / salary: £36,000 to £40,000

OTE: Uncapped and realistic £3,600

Shift and schedule: 08:30 17:30 Monday to Friday; Saturdays 08:30 16:00 on a rota with a day off in the week.

Responsibilities

• Completing MOTs on customer vehicles
• Light and full-service work
• Fast fit duties as and (when required)
• Working with the rest of the workshop to achieve targets
• Working with other centre departments (Service, Parts, etc) and ensuring that they are well informed
• Ensure the correct DVSA process is followed

Requirements

• Valid UK driving licence Essential
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed)
• Experience as an MOT Tester
• A valid MOT licence Essential
• Have a passion for the Automotive industry and want to develop further
• Want to learn and develop your knowledge of Hybrid cars
