Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking an MOT Technician for a busy Newport centre. You will perform MOTs and light repairs on customer vehicles, within a fast-fit environment, while ensuring processes meet DVSA standards.

Experience as a Vehicle Technician and a valid MOT licence are essential. The role offers progression, full training toward Level 3 qualifications, and attractive benefits within a growing network.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence required.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician; MOT Tester preferred.
• No formal qualifications required; training provided for Level 3.
• A valid MOT licence essential and willingness to learn about hybrids.

Responsibilities

• Complete MOTs on customer vehicles.
• Perform light and full-service tasks as needed.
• Carry out fast-fit duties when required.
• Collaborate with workshop, Service, Parts to hit targets.
• Ensure DVSA processes are followed correctly.

Job description

Our client who is one of the UKs fastest growing fast-fit automotive business, are currently looking for a MOT Technician based at their retail centre in Newport.

As a MOT Technician would be responsible for completing MOTs on customers cars, as well as other light repair work. To be applicable for this role you must have a valid MOT licence, as well as experience working as a Vehicle Technician.

You do not need to be a qualified technician for this role. Our client is happy to put you through your qualifications!

Shift and schedule

08:30 17:30 Monday to Friday; Saturdays 08:30 16:00 on a rota with a day off in the week.

MOT Technician Responsibilities

• Completing MOTs on customer vehicles
• Light and full-service work
• Fast fit duties as and (when required)
• Working with the rest of the workshop to achieve targets
• Working with other centre departments (Service, Parts, etc) and ensuring that they are well informed
• Ensure the correct DVSA process is followed

To be a MOT Technician you will need

• Valid UK driving licence Essential
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed)
• Experience as an MOT Tester
• A valid MOT licence Essential
• Have a passion for the Automotive industry and want to develop further
• Want to learn and develop your knowledge of Hybrid cars
