Octane Recruitment's client, a fast-growing UK automotive retailer, seeks an MOT Technician in Newport. You will carry out MOTs, light servicing and associated duties, with on-going training and support to gain Level 3 qualifications. Full-time, on-site role, with an uncapped bonus potential and a strong progression path.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience as Vehicle Technician or MOT Tester is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete MOTs on customer vehicles.
• Perform light and full-service work as required.
• Support fast-fit duties and workshop targets.
• Collaborate with Service, Parts and other centre teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure DVSA processes are followed.

Job description

Our client who is one of the UK's fastest growing fast-fit automotive business, are currently looking for a MOT Technician based at their retail centre in Newport.

As a MOT Technician would be responsible for completing MOTs on customers cars, as well as other light repair work. To be applicable for this role you must have a valid MOT licence, as well as experience working as a Vehicle Technician.

You do not need to be a qualified technician for this role. Our client is happy to put you through your qualifications!

Location: Newport

Pay / salary: £32,500

OTE: Uncapped and realistic £3,600

Shift and schedule: 08:30 - 17:30 Monday to Friday; Saturdays 08:30 - 16:00 on a rota with a day off in the week.

MOT Technician Responsibilities:

• Completing MOTs on customer vehicles
• Light and full-service work
• Fast fit duties as and (when required)
• Working with the rest of the workshop to achieve targets
• Working with other centre departments (Service, Parts, etc) and ensuring that they are well informed
• Ensure the correct DVSA process is followed

To be a MOT Technician you will need:

• Valid UK driving licence - Essential
• Experience working as a Vehicle Technician (no qualifications needed)
• Experience as an MOT Tester
• A valid MOT licence - Essential
• Have a passion for the Automotive industry and want to develop further
• Want to learn and develop your knowledge of Hybrid cars
