Job summary

Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd in Preston is seeking a conscientious MOT Planner/Customer Service Receptionist to join the Service Department. The role involves managing the MOT ATF lane, taking bookings, invoicing, and liaising with other test stations.

You will promote service sales and maintain strong customer relations in a busy workshop environment. The position requires organisational ability, excellent communication skills, and IT literacy.

Qualifications

• Experience in the commercial vehicle sector preferred.
• MOT processes knowledge is advantageous.
• Good organisation and adaptability under pressure.
• Excellent communication with customers and team.
• Proficient with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage MOT ATF Lane bookings and invoicing for 3rd party MOTs.
• Raise job cards and obtain order numbers.
• Coordinate urgent repairs and liaise with other test stations.
• Promote and maintain excellent customer relations and handle queries.
• Record detailed customer requests for workshop action and approvals.
• Prepare test/diagnosis reports for quotations and job cards.
• Inform customers of delays and additional work required.
• Promote workshop repair and service facilities.
