Job summary

Islamic Relief Worldwide is seeking a Junior Mosque Engagement Officer to build and strengthen partnerships with mosques and Islamic centres across several regional locations in the UK. You will engage community leaders, deliver presentations and support fundraising campaigns to raise awareness of the charity's work.

The role requires strong communication, networking and organisational skills, with willingness to travel and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in community engagement roles, particularly with mosques or Islamic centres.
• Confident public speaking, delivering presentations and announcements to varied audiences.
• Experience building relationships with mosque committees, Imams, trustees and community leaders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse communities.
• Experience supporting fundraising or community initiatives.
• Ability to represent Islamic Relief professionally across a range of settings.
• Strong presentation, networking and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen relationships with mosques, Islamic centres, madrassas and community organisations across the region.
• Engage community leaders, mosque committees and volunteers to raise awareness of Islamic Relief's work.
• Support fundraising campaigns and community engagement activities and events.
• Represent Islamic Relief professionally at events, meetings and public engagements.
• Coordinate volunteers and logistics for community events, including evenings and weekends.
• Travel extensively within the region to build partnerships and mobilise support.
