Job summary

Time Recruitment is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter for a Manchester City Centre role. You will own a pipeline of second charge mortgage applications from submission to final decision, reviewing documents and ensuring compliant, customer-centric outcomes.

Ideal candidates have at least 12 months of experience in loan processing or underwriting within regulated environments, and strong numerical/analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 12+ months experience assessing or processing loan applications.
• Experience in second charge lending or related regulated fields.
• Experience in KPI-driven environments.
• Ability to manage multiple cases with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manually assess and underwrite second charge mortgage applications.
• Review and verify financial information and supporting documentation.
• Request additional evidence where required and challenge information as needed.
• Make fair lending decisions based on customer circumstances.
• Maintain detailed and accurate application records.
• Liaise with customers, brokers and internal stakeholders throughout the process.
• Ensure activity complies with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Meet performance targets and quality metrics.
• Promote positive customer outcomes at all stages of underwriting.
