Time Recruitment Solutions Ltd. is recruiting a Mortgage Underwriter for Manchester city centre.

You will own a pipeline of second charge mortgage applications from submission through to final decision, assessing cases, analysing documents, and making responsible lending decisions in collaboration with brokers and customers. This role offers a competitive base salary (£32,500) with a bonus potential, hybrid working options after probation, and clear career progression.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months' experience assessing or processing loan applications.
• Experience in second charge lending or similar regulated environment.
• Experience in KPI-driven environments.
• Ability to manage multiple cases with accuracy.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manually assess and underwrite second charge mortgage applications.
• Review and verify financial information and supporting documentation.
• Request additional evidence where required and challenge information appropriately.
• Make fair and balanced lending decisions based on customer circumstances.
• Maintain accurate and detailed application records.
• Liaise with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders throughout the application process.
• Ensure all activity remains compliant with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Deliver against agreed performance targets and quality measures.
• Promote positive customer outcomes at every stage of the underwriting journey.
