A leading company in facilities management is seeking a cleaner to ensure high-quality cleaning standards. The role involves window cleaning, maintaining equipment, and ensuring health and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have prior cleaning experience and strong interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and staff effectively.
To conform to the cleaning specification and schedules and carry out cleaning duties as required, with a view to continuously developing and improving quality standards.
To take a direct interest in the health and safety of yourself, your colleagues, and others who may be affected by your work activities.
The job holder will be required to have experience within cleaning.
When dealing with client personnel and at all levels, the job holder must use tact and diplomacy to gain cooperation from client personnel and when dealing with visitors.
The job holder is responsible for checking the quality of their work and supervising less experienced staff when required.
- The job holder is responsible for the care of tools, completing appropriate maintenance, whether the property belongs to the client or Pareto.
- Confidentiality is required on all matters related to Pareto and the client.
Communication is oral/written and mostly internal with the site manager and client’s staff. It is generally straightforward. Occasionally, the job holder will liaise with contractors working inside the client’s sites or areas of responsibility, and sometimes with visitors.
The client’s image can be affected by the job holder’s dealings with visitors and the media. The post holder must liaise with client personnel at all levels, inspectors, and governing bodies that may visit the sites or areas of responsibility.
Work is allocated to the job holder who, in most cases, decides how to tackle it, sometimes with the help of specifications. There is consultation within the team regarding work plans. The job holder may need to change work priorities and make routine decisions daily based on experience, initiative, or discussions with the client’s contact.
Many tasks involve original thought. Common problems are usually technical and are solved independently using past experience and knowledge. Unusual problems may require help from the Site Manager or client’s contact.
A high level of concentration is required, especially when working on machinery and adhering to Health & Safety guidelines.
The role covers a wide range of activities with variable interruptions, often from internal sources. Tasks outside of general duties may be assigned based on priorities.
The job may require working outdoors in adverse weather, necessitating risk assessment regarding personal safety, noise, and pollution.
