Job description

To conform to the cleaning specification and schedules and carry out cleaning duties as required, with a view to continuously developing and improving quality standards.

To take a direct interest in the health and safety of yourself, your colleagues, and others who may be affected by your work activities.

Key duties:
  1. To carry out window cleaning in line with the correct specifications and health and safety standards.
  2. Update supervisor of any changes on site.
  3. Liaise with supervisor/line manager to review sites and review work on Jobber allocation system.
  4. Be punctual and attend for duty as requested.
  5. To achieve the highest standard of work, with a positive team spirit.
  6. To continuously develop and improve quality standards.
  7. To meet managers, clients, and company expectations.
  8. To respond to any reasonable request of the company or client.
  9. To ensure that products, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and stored.
  10. To use your initiative to resolve problems where appropriate.
  11. Ensure that your appearance and conduct comply with the company's expectations and that appropriate clothing/PPE is always worn.
  12. Communicate any unresolved cleaning issues.
Knowledge and Experience:

Experience: The job holder will be required to have experience within cleaning.

Interpersonal Skills: When dealing with client personnel and at all levels, the job holder must use tact and diplomacy to gain cooperation from client personnel and visitors.

Responsibility:

  • Human Resource Management: Responsible for checking the quality of their work and supervising less experienced staff when required.
  • Physical Resource Management: Responsible for the care of tools, ensuring they are complete and maintained properly, whether property of the client or Pareto. Confidentiality is required on all matters related to Pareto and the client.
Communication:

Communication is primarily oral and written, mainly internal with the site manager and client’s staff. The job may involve liaising with contractors, visitors, inspectors, and governing bodies.

Liaison:

The job holder’s dealings with visitors and the media can affect the client’s image. They also liaise with inspectors and governing bodies as needed.

Mental Demands:

Judgement and Decision Making: Work is allocated, but the job holder often decides how to approach tasks, sometimes with specifications or team discussions. Routine decisions are made daily based on experience, initiative, or client discussions.

Original Thought and Problem Solving: Tasks may require original thought, technical problem-solving, or design input, with assistance from the Site Manager or client when needed.

Concentration: High levels of alertness are required, especially when working with machinery and following health and safety guidelines.

Flexibility: Tasks are varied, with interruptions from internal sources. The job holder responds immediately or later, and may be asked to perform duties outside their usual scope.

Working Conditions:

The job involves working outdoors and in adverse weather, requiring the assessment of personal risks related to machinery, noise, and pollution.
