Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Mobile Water Treatment Technician (Tier 3) to join a large facilities management team in the South of England. The role covers water hygiene, chemical dosing, temperature monitoring and cooling systems in critical environments, with a focus on regulatory compliance and quality control.

You should have City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 related to Plumbing, Heating or Chemistry, plus at least 3 years in water treatment. A valid driving licence and DBS check are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in water hygiene/treatment
• Legionella awareness and HSG274 knowledge
• TMV servicing knowledge or training desirable
• Water sampling experience
• Cooling tower & closed-loop testing experience
• Valid driving licence
• DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists clearance required

Brief

Mobile Water Treatment Technician needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in South of England who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mobile Water Treatment Technician that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of Water hygiene/treatment services, chemical dosing, temperature monitoring and cooling systems in critical environments. The successful candidate would have a relevant qualification - i.e. City and Guilds or NVQ level 2 equivalent qualification relevant to Plumbing, Heating (Closed Loops) or Chemistry (Desirable) etc. - and have a keen interest in Water Treatment. If you have commercial experience in Facilities Management that would be a plus!

What the role entails

• Tasks will include but not limited to; Temperature Monitoring, Showerhead Descales, Cold Water Storage Tank Inspections & Cleans, Cooling Tower Clean & Disinfections, TMV Servicing, Water Sampling, LTHW Systems Testing & Analysis, Dosing of Inhibitor & Biocide, Cooling System Testing & Analysis, Steam Boiler Testing & Analysis, Water Softener Servicing
• Dosing of Chemicals (Inhibitor and Biocide) into closed systems using dosing pot method or injection
• Cooling System Onsite Technical Testing and Analysis. The ability to interpret results and make suitable recommendations
• Plumbing Remedial Works, to include but not limited to: Dead leg removal, TMV Replacements or Installations including pipework modifications, Point of Use Water Heater Replacements, Flexible Hose Replacement or Hard piping, Expansion Vessel Installations or Rotations, Internal Calorifier Inspections, Cold Water Storage Tanks Remedials

What experience you need to be the successful Mobile Water Treatment Technician

• Relevant qualifications and/or experience dependent on role
• Legionella Awareness Training including extensive Knowledge of Regulations/Byelaws, L8 ACOP, HSG274 and any other relevant guidance
• Extensive Knowledge of Water Hygiene and Water Treatment service delivery requirements based on Table 2.1 HSG274 Part 2 and Appendix 3.1 HSG274 Part 3
• At least 3 years' experience in water hygiene/treatment
• City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 equivalent qualification relevant to Plumbing, Heating (Closed Loops) or Chemistry
• Up to date knowledge of technical regulations including Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
• TMV Servicing experience (Servicing and Testing Requirements of Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV) (WH018) trained is preferable)
• Water Sampling experience including understanding of different sample suites and bottle types
• Clean & Disinfection experience (Disinfection of Hot and Cold Water Systems (WH005) and Inspection, Cleaning & Disinfection of Evaporative Cooling Systems - W258 trained preferable)
• Closed Loop testing and dosing experience (Water Treatment Chemistry Foundation W252 training and Practical Monitoring & Control of Water Quality in Closed Systems - W276 preferable)
• Cooling Towers testing and water treatment (WMSoc Training Courses - Evaporative Cooling Water Chemistry Foundation - W255 and WMSoc Training Courses - Evaporative Cooling Water Chemistry Advanced - W256 preferable)
• Steam Boilers (WMSoc Training Courses - Steam Boiler Operation, Water Treatment & Chemistry - W260 trained preferable)
• Valid driving licenceThis role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists, therefore ability to pass is essential.
