Job summary

West Midlands-based Facilities Management organisation is seeking a Mobile Water Treatment Technician (Tier 3) in West Bromwich with a salary of £35,000–£37,000 plus van and fuel card. The role requires in-depth knowledge of water hygiene/treatment, chemical dosing, temperature monitoring and cooling systems in critical environments.

Qualifications such as City and Guilds/NVQ level 2 relevant to Plumbing, Heating or Chemistry are desirable, with Legionella awareness training and a valid driving

Qualifications

• Legionella Awareness Training including L8 ACOP, HSG274 guidance.
• Experience in water hygiene and treatment.
• City and Guilds or NVQ level 2 in Plumbing/Heating or Chemistry (Desirable).
• Valid driving licence and DBS Enhanced clearance.

Responsibilities

• Execute the self-delivery of all Water hygiene/treatment services.
• Duties include Temperature Monitoring, Showerhead Descales, Cold Water Storage Tank inspections and cleans, TMV servicing, Water sampling.
• LTHW System onsite testing and analysis and interpretation of results with recommendations.
• Dosing of chemicals into closed systems using dosing pots or injection.
• Cooling system onsite testing and analysis with interpretation and recommendations.
• Steam boiler testing and analysis with interpretation and recommendations.
• Water softener servicing and disinfection.
• Plumbing remedial works including dead leg removal and TMV replacements/ installations.

Brief

Mobile Water Treatment Technician needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in the West Midlands who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mobile Water Treatment Technician that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of Water hygiene/treatment services, chemical dosing, temperature monitoring and cooling systems in critical environments.

The successful candidate would have a relevant qualification - i.e. City and Guilds or NVQ level 2 equivalent qualification relevant to Plumbing, Heating (Closed Loops) or Chemistry (Desirable) etc. - and have a keen interest in Water Treatment. If you have commercial experience in a hospital environment that would be a plus!

What the role entails:

• Execute the self-delivery of all Water hygiene/treatment services
• Duties include but not limited to; Temperature Monitoring, Showerhead Descales, Cold Water Storage Tank Inspections and Cleans, TMV Servicing, Water Sampling
• LTHW System Onsite Technical Testing and Analysis of samples to include all parameters as per BSRIA BG50. The ability to interpret results and make suitable recommendations
• Dosing of Chemicals (Inhibitor and Biocide) into closed systems using dosing pot method or injection
• Cooling System Onsite Technical Testing and Analysis. The ability to interpret results and make suitable recommendations
• Steam Boiler Testing and Analysis. The ability to interpret results and make suitable recommendations
• Water Softener Servicing and Disinfection
• Plumbing Remedial Works, to include but not limited to: Dead leg removal, TMV Replacements or Installations including pipework modifications, Point of Use Water Heater Replacements, Flexible Hose Replacement or Hard piping, Expansion Vessel Installations or Rotations, Internal Calorifier Inspections, Cold Water Storage Tanks Remedials

What experience you need to be the successful Mobile Water Treatment Technician:

• Relevant qualifications and/or experience dependent on role
• Legionella Awareness Training including extensive Knowledge of Regulations/Byelaws, L8 ACOP, HSG274 and any other relevant guidance
• Extensive Knowledge of Water Hygiene and Water Treatment service delivery requirements based on Table 2.1 HSG274 Part 2 and Appendix 3.1 HSG274 Part 3
• Experience in water hygiene/treatment
• City and Guilds or NVQ level 2 qualifications relevant to Plumbing, Heating (Closed Loops) or Chemistry (Desirable)
• Valid driving licenceThis role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists, therefore ability to pass is essential.
