Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR Division for a new era of mobile repair. A base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime and more opportunities. 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

As part of SMR, you’ll deliver planned work directly to members, with a fully equipped RAC van, a fuel card, uniform, full tool set and advanced diagnostics from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Education

5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Full UK driving licence (fewer than 6 points)
