Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, covering the Portsmouth cluster and surrounding areas. You will perform pre-booked servicing and diagnostics on customer vehicles, using mobile equipment, with a focus on quality work delivered on a planned schedule.

Earn a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. Typical 40-hour week with some Saturdays and flexible enhancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance or related role.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
