Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role. You’ll work on pre-booked, scheduled jobs, not emergency calls, across Maidstone cluster areas. You’ll service, diagnose with mobile equipment, and perform in-depth repairs to RAC standards.

Expect a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30‑17:00 and 1 in 4 Saturdays. Salary £40,178 base with OTE up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime option and overtime/premium rates.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
