Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for our SMR division. You will perform pre-booked servicing, diagnostics with mobile gear, and in‑depth repairs at members' driveways or workplaces.

The role offers a base salary of £40,178 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000, 40‑hour weeks, and guaranteed overtime options. NVQ Level 2 and 2+ years’ experience required, plus 5+ years total as a Technician and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent requirement.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles as booked in schedules.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
