Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for our SMR division. You’ll handle planned, on-site servicing and diagnostics with a fully equipped RAC van, working across a defined local area and schedule.

Expect structured work with no emergency callouts, focusing on high-quality mobile repairs and member satisfaction. Ideal candidates have an NVQ2 or 5+ years as a vehicle technician, a valid UK licence, and a commitment to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with a full UK driving licence (<6 points).

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Skills

2+ years' experience as Vehicle Tech/3

UK driving licence (≤6 points)

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
