Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Edinburgh area. You’ll perform planned maintenance, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs with a clear schedule and no reactive callouts, driving customer satisfaction from a fully equipped RAC van.

Expect a base salary around £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, and a 40-hour week with occasional Saturdays, plus extensive benefits and overtime options that support long-term security.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
