Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. You will execute planned servicing, diagnostics, and repairs at customers’ driveways or car parks, following a clear, pre-booked schedule.

The role emphasizes independent work, problem solving, and delivering high-quality service with RAC support. You’ll operate with a fully equipped RAC van, pay structure includes a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, and overtime options that boost earnings.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is required or higher.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 2+ years with NVQ2.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on customer vehicles.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work through pre-booked appointments with a planned schedule.
