Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for servicing, maintenance and repair at customers’ homes or workplaces. The role is Bristol-based, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday 8:30am–5pm with one Saturday per month.

Optional overtime pays overtime at time and a half, plus a bonus scheme and pension benefits. The technician will service EVs and petrol vehicles at customer locations, diagnose issues, and communicate repair recommendations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (Level 2/3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (driveway, office car park).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections).
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
• Communicate repair recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments via card transactions.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Stay updated with latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
