Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles at customers' homes or workplaces. The role is field-based, with a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday and one optional Saturday per month, with overtime paid at enhanced rates.

You will handle diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on EVs where required, and you will manage customer communications and payments while upholding high service standards.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points, no bans.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at the customer's location (driveway or car park).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (oil changes, tire rotations, brakes).
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues.
• Communicate repair recommendations to customers.
• Process payments via card transactions.
• Keep records of work and parts used.
