Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician in its SMR division—a newer, fast‑growing part of the business delivering planned repairs directly to members. The role offers a clear, pre‑booked schedule without roadside callouts and includes a fully equipped RAC van and modern diagnostics.

This full‑time 40‑hour position pays a base salary of £40,178 with potential OTE up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime and a 1 in 4 Saturday pattern.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
